More Good News Clubs Start Up! –
The Raymond Case Elementary School in Elk Grove facilitated by Lisa C., Edy D., and Susan R., started on Friday Sept 28th. Twenty-three children attended and eight gave their lives to Christ for the first time. Praise God! I overheard one of the little girls who did pray to receive Christ say this to her friend, “Thank you so much for inviting me to the Good News Club! I am so glad I came to hear about Jesus!”. What a blessing when children invite their friends to hear about Jesus. It is the best gift anyone can give to someone else!
Please pray about the area you live in for all the public elementary schools to have Good News Clubs so that all children have the opportunity to hear the Gospel! Get in contact with me at 916-470-0917 or

Are You A Harvest Giver?
As a Harvest Giver the impact you have in affecting the work of the Kingdom is significant! You gifts have not only substantially touches and influences CEF Sacramento and it’s ministries, but have done so far beyond CEF Sacramento to children in other nations. Your gifts have allowed CEF Sacramento to fulfill our mission, and enable us to be more effective and powerful in reaching children for Christ.
You are in this position because of a number of factors, your faith and trust in God has freed you to give in abundance, you have been disciplined and wise in your spending in order to create wealth to give away and God has blessed you! So what might be next for you? Consider giving a legacy gift. Legacy gifts are the ones that continue to give to the work of CEF Sacramento ministry long after being given. These are gifts that outlive the giver. How do you become a Legacy Giver? The first step is to meet with CEF Sacramento, Joanne Werneke, Staff Intern and prayerfully consider what amount or percentage you would like to give to CEF Sacramento and what ways you envision your Legacy gift being used. Call CEF Sacramento, Joanne Werneke 916-470-0917 to setup a time to meet and talk about your Legacy gift.

CEF Servant of the month: Shari R. –
How and why did you first get involved with CEF?
As far as my beginnings with CEF....I know our church has enjoyed the benefit of their curriculum for many, many years (Children's church, Tennis Camp, etc) . I also remember attending a youth CEF week-long training (CYIA) with my daughter, which prompted my first experience of hosting some 5-day clubs. This intense week of training I think is what hooked me on the creative yet sound way that CEF weaves the gospel into every Bible lesson and how committed CEF is to evangelizing children in age appropriate ways.
How are you involved now and where do you serve?
Currently, God has given me a passion to seek entrance into all the 10 elementary schools of Folsom to host Good News Clubs. I see myself as somewhat of a bridge between local churches and our public schools, pursuing GNC teams from all different churches. Ultimately, I'd love to see our local churches "adopt" our schools to offer not only GNCs but also tutoring, clean-up, and supporting our schools in lots of helpful ways. Also, I am teaching at two of our GNCs- Oak Chan and Blanche Sprentz Elementary Schools.
Tell me about a time that God worked during CEF ministry and what was the result?
On days where I have felt particularly needy, they were very fruitful. I'm seeing an uncomfortable pattern that whenever I feel especially weak, incapable, etc....end up being the most fruitful days. I must confess that I don't like feeling needy but in God's economy, He cuts loose best when I am in that state, it seems!
Today,.2 students wanted to talk about their relationship with God after the lesson. One of them, Jackson, already knows the Lord but just wanted to talk with me about that. He was quite a mature little boy and seems serious about wanting to please the Lord. God led me to share that our relationship with Him is based on believing in Christ, not perfection (John 1:12). Also I shared what to do whenever you do sin (I John 1:9). I then gave him tips on how to continue growing in his relationship with the Lord.
The second child, Sarah, prayed to become God's child today with Mrs. Vernon! She beamed as she shared with us about her important decision. She seems to grasp it's importance.
Rejoicing over what God is doing! My heart is full and I can't think of anyone else who appreciates what He is doing through GNC more than YOU! Thanks so much!
