A NOTE FROM OUR CHAPTER INTERN DIRECTOR

Shari Ryan, our coordinator for the Folsom area has been reporting back to me with outstanding stories of how the Lord is working through the club at Oak Chan Elementary School.  Shari strongly believes she has been called to see that all the elementary schools in Folsom have a Good News Club®. This is a quote from one of her e-mails to her prayer warriors; "God showed me once again that it is not about us!  He is doing His invisible and most significant work, just allowing us to be blessed by being a part of what HE is doing." There are 21 children enrolled in the club at Oak Chan Elementary School. Blanche Sprentz Elementary School is ready to welcome a GNC® with open arms this year and a third school will start soon.

Another success story concerning our Good News Clubs® is the beginning of a Kids Club at Stonegate Apartments on Mac Road in Sacramento. We have been working with Galina Nikolay from Missionary Gospel Church in Fair Oaks.  As a result of the training that took place last year we now have a Kids Club meeting every other Saturday at the Stonegate Apartments. Galina has expressed a desire to take a team to another apartment complex and begin another Kids Club. Galina has a strong group of young people committed to spread the Gospel to children in Sacramento. She has a strong prayer team holding them up in prayer regularly.

The key to success for any of our Good News Club®s is prayer! We need lots of prayer support as well as financial support to reach the children of Sacramento County. Would you like to see a club started in an elementary school near your home? Start up a prayer support group in your home. Take prayer walks around the school. Attend our TCE 1 training class starting up in February in Folsom. Please make reaching the children in Sacramento with the Good News of Jesus Christ a priority for you, your friends and family in 2012

Joanne Werneke, Staff Intern

 

 

Joanne Werneke currently serves as a volunteer coordinator for CEF and has a passion for Jesus and making Him known to children and adults. Before becoming a volunteer coordinator with CEF she has served as a Children's Director/Pastor and an Outreach Coordinator at 2 greater north area Sacramento churches. In addition, her experience as an Initiative Coordinator for Alpha USA Folsom Faithbased Re-entry Initiative includes building volunteer teams based out of numerous local area churches. She holds a bachelor's in Christian Leadership and Bible and Theology from William Jessup University.    

 

She and her husband Herb have been married 31 years and have 1 daughter (Caroline) and 2 sons (Herb and Matthew) along with a son in law (Lupe) and grandson (Jordan). She loves reading the Bible, praying, teaching pre-school at Community Bible Study, walking her dog and hanging out with family and friends.

 

She would like to invite each of you to join the "Joanne Werneke CEF Ministry Support Team". To achieve the ministry support required she would need 112 new financial support team members who would consider a $45-65 monthly pledge. The money will go toward Children's Ministry Institute training, air fare, living and travel expenses.

 

By joining the Joanne Werneke CEF Ministry Support Team, you will be giving much more than finances. You will further partner with CEF in developing effective leaders for the work of reaching the children of the greater Sacramento area with the Gospel message.

 

Please ask the Lord for His leading in this and give only as He leads you to.
